The Regional Account Manager holds a high impact position that will represent and manage Clariant's Consumer Care accounts for the Care Chemicals Business Unit. This position's primary responsibility is to successfully manage existing accounts while creating impressive growth for Clariant's diverse portfolio of personal care and home care ingredients. They will also manage formulas, pricing, and troubleshoot a variety of complex issues. The Regional Account Manager will work with Business Development Managers and Regional Technical Innovation Centers to provide solutions to our valued customers. This position is virtual and will require some travel to customers across the North American region. Responsibilities
- Cultivate new customers and strengthen existing customer relationships to drive sales and profitability with existing and new products
- Build strong working knowledge of competitive spaces and product positioning
- Proactively remain connected to clients and market trends to access new search opportunities and ensure all viable clients are engaged on a regular and effective basis
- Implement strategic initiatives to successfully grow business with assigned accounts
- Lead price negotiations with customers and manage profitability to achieve financial targets
- Lead cross functional meetings and collaborate with internal teams to achieve fundamental goals and objectives
- Act as the primary point of contact for respective customers
- Provide clients with detailed proposals, workshops, and product consultations
- Create and manage new opportunities within Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Manage customer projects and share information on a timely basis with internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Science related field
- 8 - 10 years of personal care experience, strategic business planning, sales, marketing, and product and business development
- Experience with formula pricing is preferred
- Strong business acumen and high level of freedom to make complex conclusions within operating guidelines
- Action and results oriented mindset with a high degree of enthusiasm, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit
- Ability to multi-task and manage resources to maximize territory performance
- 20% -30% travel required
