Car Cleaner / Track Extra Person

$18.55/hr

Hourly Full-Time (6:00am-2:00pm – Monday-Friday)

The Job You Will Perform:

• Inspection of rail cars for defects/safety issues on the outside and inside of the car.
• Wash/Dry/Sweep rail cars for plant loading.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to safely switch/spot cars from one track to another, this includes lining switches/derails.
• Will assist track team as needed with track maintenance and repairs.

The Skills You Will Bring:

• Ability to bend, twist, lift, sit, climb and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to get on and off railroad cars
• Ability to secure handbrakes on railroad cars and line switches.
• Ability to communicate with two radios and hand signals.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety harness/fall protection at all times.
• Must pass basic railroad safety rules class.
• Will be required to become RWP (Roadway Worker Protection) certified to assist with track maintenance as needed.

Job Requirements:

Must be

• Minimum high school graduate, GED or equivalent work experience
• At least 18 years of age
• Eligible for employment in the US

Must be willing to meet the following requirements:

• Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment
• Submit to periodic drug screen as a condition of employment
• Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
• Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
• Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
• Wear required safety equipment
• Operate or work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals hose, heavy machinery, or elevated working surfaces (with proper safety training and safety protection
