Here is some of what you can expect from being a Radiation Oncology Registered Nurse with us:

  • Your role oversees and directs the care of the patient with hematologic/oncologic diagnosis who is receiving radiation therapy.
  • Your role is responsible for the care of medical and surgical patients in collaboration with other departmental personnel and radiation oncologists.
  • You serve as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Your role oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.
  • Within the first year the RN will have gained basic clinical knowledge and skills of caring for hematology/radiation oncology patients.

Qualifications you will need for this role:

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. Current BLS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. PALS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.

Experience: Two years experience in acute care required. Previous oncology experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills.
