R&D Spec III (Bioanalytical Chemist)


Join our team as an R&D Specialist III (Bioanalytical Chemist) to leverage your expertise as a member of Bayer's Discovery Analytics team to develop the next generation of Crop Science products with interdisciplinary scientists across the organization. YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist III (Bioanalytical Chemist), are:


  • Applies analytical chemistry knowledge to conduct bioanalytical sample preparation, LC-MS, GC-MS, elemental, and spectroscopic assays;
  • Contributes to ongoing team efforts in LC-MS and GC- MS method development and validation to enable pipeline advancement of Crop Protection, Crop Efficiency and Seed & Trait products;
  • Maintains detailed record keeping in ELN, prepares analytical report and authors internal publications;
  • Maintains lab equipment and coordinates efforts to improve lab safety and operation efficiency;
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to develop digital tools for automatic sample preparation, data analysis and results reporting;
  • Commits to safety goals and adheres to safety protocols and best practices.

Required Qualifications:


  • Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree;
  • Strong chemistry acumen with the ability to design experiments and analyze data;
  • Strong knowledge of bioanalytical sample preparation;
  • Ability to perform LC-MS analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Two or more years of relevant research experience in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Cell Biology, Plant Biology, Biochemical Engineering, or related fields (to include academic and industrial experience post-undergraduate);
  • Strong knowledge of GC-MS;
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.

Domestic relocation is not available for this role.

Position will be based in Chesterfield, Missouri (St. Louis area).
