The Marketing and R&D department's rallying cry is to deliver bigger, better initiatives by being agile, choiceful and focused on consumer needs at each eating occasion. The R&D IT Data Scientist plays an integral role by loading and maintaining technical data in multiple systems to support Product Development, Packaging Engineering, Master Data/Business Interface, and Operations. These activities support development of new food items, improvement of existing items, cost reductions and ingredient/packaging substitutions.

The salary range for this role is: $69,056 - $117,312.

Responsibilities:

• The R&D IT Data Specialist is responsible for data entry in multiple platforms, data governance, troubleshooting system errors, testing IT enhancements to the data base systems, monitoring workflows, and maintaining training documents.
• One of the key responsibilities is to set up and maintain technical information such as ingredient specifications and recipes in the Product Data Management (PDM) tool in SAP. The incumbent is expected to adhere to business processes to initiate and follow through all applicable PDM workflows as part of master Bill of Material (BOM) governance.
• Another key responsibility is to set up and maintain materials via the MDG (Master Data Governance) tool.
• Incumbent will spend part of their time dedicated to the R&D Regulatory Group, where they will assist in the development of label copy for new products, product revisions and label updates.
• The R&D IT Data Specialist's performance is measured on their ability to efficiently, and accurately, process and monitor data in the needed timeframe. Additionally, they will be measured on their ability to work with a broad spectrum of cross functional partners in IT, R&D, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Procurement as well as with multiple Del Monte Foods facilities and third-party partners.
• The incumbent must exhibit technical competence in data entry and data analysis.
• The challenges most often encountered in this position are working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

Qualifications:

• BS degree in Data Sciences or Business
• 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably within the food industry
• Must have Intermediate MS Excel skills.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Must have a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong collaboration/teamwork and communication skills.
• Must be able to learn and work efficiently within SAP Systems including PDM and MDG (training available at DMFI).
