Quality Technician | D Shift | 8 PM to 8 AM
Position Overview
Position Objective:
To perform the required tests and maintain supporting data for the tests in the Quality Department.
Essential Duties
(Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
Dye tails according to work procedures
Fill dye jars daily
Perform heat set audit daily
Follow recall procedures with nonconformances
Send findings & observations (via e-mail) to distribution
Perform checklist audit of process spec book monthly
General office duties
Perform SYR according to work procedures when required
Perform weekly moisture checks on all styles running
Perform weekly yarn size on all styles running
Attend Safety Meeting Monthly & e-mail minutes
Perform twist checks weekly
Test on nonconformance carpet samples as requested by QA Manager
Fill out hold/release forms as needed
Assist process managers/supervisors with all nonconformances as needed
Must be available to fill in on any shift if the scheduled shift QA Tech is absent.
Non-Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
1. Perform other duties as required by Shift Supervisor.

Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, and kneel.

Must be able to lift 15 lbs occasionally

Close vision is required

Must be able to work 12 hour shifts either day or night, weekdays or weekends as scheduled if needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Heat Set or Twisting experience preferred.
Other Requirements

Manual dexterity and problem solving abilities

Communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardizing situations.

Work occasionally in normal industrial environment with inherent background noise, dirt, humidity, and temperature variations

The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in precarious places

The employee occasionally handles dyes and chemicals

Keep area neat and clean and free of safety hazards
Work Shift
12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
