Opening: Quality Manager

Seastrom Manufacturing is seeking a team- and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills to manage its quality systems for IS9001, AS9100, and PPAP in a precision-manufacturing environment.
The Quality Manager is responsible for coordinating all quality assurance control for the organization, and to monitor and respond to all quality claims and complaints. Visit customer facilities, as needed, to create an understanding of business requirements and create quality agreements. Required to know and manage to AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards and can ensure implementation, documentation, and the transparency required for regular audits. The Quality Manager is responsible to direct the quality department, and for building and maintaining relationships in a team environment modeling professionalism, inter-personal skills, problem solving, adaptability, and personal value commitment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate to maximize product reliability and minimize costs associated with rework and scrap.
  • Continually monitor and develop processes that improve quality.
  • Plan appropriately to meet deadlines minimizing extended schedules and stress.
  • Maintain and apply competency in certifications associated with different types of plating and heat treating.
  • Prepare documentation exhibiting advanced writing and technical communication skills.
  • Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and complex blueprints.
  • Properly relate materials required from reading drawings and prints to raw material selection, outside processes, and manufacturing processes.
  • Administer routings, bills of material, and QPA from a traveler.
  • Analyze and understand each work center and their processes, including production equipment and compound insert and tooling.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner, maintaining a clean work area and wearing proper protective equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Previous leadership experience a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a background in manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards required.
  • Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft computer applications and the ability to learn other software applications.
  • Competency in ROHS compliance and prohibited materials restrictions required.
  • Proficiency in reading and speaking the English language with comprehension skills sufficient to understand safety standards and job performance expectations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, as well as the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form as well as deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Capable to site and stand for extended periods of time. Frequently required to walk and use other repetitive motions, such as those used for computer keyboard data entry.
  • Able to frequently lift 10 pounds, and lift and/or move 75 pounds on occasion.
  • Maintain specific vision abilities, including close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Capable of functioning in an environment that is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, oils, or other cutting fluids.
  • Ability to tolerate and work productively in an environment with quiet to high (loud) noise level.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
