Pay: $27.27 hour, plus $1/hour shift differential & up to 3% quarterly bonus &

$1,500 sign on bonus

McCain Food’s facility in Wisconsin Rapids/Plover, Wisconsin is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 500 employees. This site specializes in the production of french fries and mashed potatoes and produces roughly 3 million pounds of french fries a day!

Position Summary:


  • The Quality Lead Worker is a direct assistant to the Quality Supervisor.
  • The person is directly accountable for the on-going product judgments and notifications of the proper personnel.
  • Must be completely familiar with all Standard Operating Procedures and Product Specifications.
  • The Quality Lead Worker is also responsible for keeping communications continuous between Production department, Quality Auditors, and fellow Lead Workers.


Major Duties:

  • Promotes job safety.
  • Work closely with the production employees to reduce the re-handled and restricted rate.
  • Involvement with department personnel to expand and strengthen continuous improvement concept.
  • Awareness of product conditions, and how to correctly handle each situation and how to manage product non-conformances.
  • Train, provide guidance, and direct employees in a manner that assures maximum development and utilization of their talents through the continuous improvement concept.
  • Responsible for collection of samples.
  • Responsible for on-shift cuttings.
  • Has a strong understanding of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
  • Participates in and helps coordinate Gage R&R studies.
  • Enters data into Computer System
  • Support and participate in Lean Manufacturing concepts.


Special Requirements:

  • Requires considerable mental skill, initiative and independence.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to promote and lead the continuous improvement concept.
  • Able to cope with a great amount of stress.
  • Have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Occasionally requires physical effort.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel software programs.
