Quality Control Specialist - Job Description
Performs production quality assurance in-process and finished product testing and new product alignment in accordance with ISO 9001/14001 requirements following Axalta Test Methods, work instructions and standard operating procedures using laboratory instrumentation and equipment to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements.
Formulating color development for Business Segments in accordance with color development requests following Axalta Color System [DUCS] protocols using computer aided color matching software applications, visual color dry plate standard side-by-side assessments, tint guide panels, and inverted microscope aided flake identification to meet customer requirements and marketing program forecasts.

Perform laboratory tests and evaluate product to ensure compliance with quality control specifications

Color discrimination and color match acceptability

Weighing and spraying

Bending and lifting various container sizes weighing up to 40 lbs to perform testing requirements

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and facilities

Maintain safety standards and thorough understanding of site procedures

Perform basic computer skills for various programs and equipment

Provide production laboratory support for technical team

Manage hazardous waste according to site policy, area specific procedures and training.
Qualifications
-
High School Diploma/GED - required.

Successfully qualify on Farnsworth-Munsell color test - required.

Successful completion of background check, physical and drug screening - required
-
Work 12 hour rotating shifts - required and overtime as needed

Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation/equipment capabilities a plus

Perform basic math functions

Bending and lifting various container sizes weighing up to 40 lbs to perform testing requirements.

Perform basic computer skills for various programs and equipment.
