Summary:

A Quality Assurance Specialist 2 assists in the development and implementation of company and regulatory quality standards for product manufacturing. The Quality Assurance Specialist 2 may perform audits and internal reviews of quality data according to existing procedures, then documents the results in the required format. This position typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Quality Assurance Specialist 2 is expected to complete duties with a minimal amount of supervision. Works on projects/matters of intermediate complexity gaining exposure to some of the more complex tasks within the Quality Management System (QMS). To be a Quality Assurance Specialist 2 typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Assist other Quality Assurance departmental personnel in maintaining compliance to regulatory and Quality Management System (QMS) regulations and requirements
  • Maintain all current Inspection Authorizations (if applicable) to routinely assist other Quality Assurance personnel when necessary and/or needed
  • Assist the Senior Quality Assurance Auditor in developing and maintaining the Internal Audit schedule
  • Conduct internal Kodiak Aircraft Company process/procedure audits as assigned by the Senior Quality Assurance Auditor
  • Compile reports detailing results of internal audits including any Encountered Conditions and/or Special Emphasis items
  • Write and issue Corrective Action Reports (CAR’s) under the supervision of the Senior Quality Assurance Auditor
  • Ensure that Quality Assurance documents are maintained and up to date
  • Lead activities regarding the compilation of documents required for Certificate of Airworthiness activities
  • Lead activities regarding the compilation of data required for 5S and SeeD activities
  • Lead activities regarding the compilation of data needed to track QMS performance metrics (KPI’s)
  • Assist the Senior Quality Assurance Auditor in the collection of data regarding any internal Quality Escapes
  • Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement plans for internal/external related processes and/or procedures
  • Train and/or provide assistance to less experienced associates regarding quality procedures, protocols and documentation

  • None
Requirements:
  • Intermediate understanding of the aspects of Quality and manufacturing/production
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of the ERP system (E10)
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment strongly preferred
  • Intermediate oral and written communications skills
  • Intermediate analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Intermediate organizational skills with the ability to create, maintain and retrieve files, both physical and electronic
  • Ability to read and comprehend internal process/procedure documents
  • Intermediate knowledge of industry and government regulations (aerospace, manufacturing, 14 CFR Part 21, etc.)
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain inspection authorizations for use as an additional resource when needed
  • FAA Issuance of Authorized Release Documents (Form 8130-3) certification preferred but not required
