As an experienced Quality Assurance Manager based in Tacoma, Washington you will manage quality systems in place at our Tacoma site and provide oversight for technical specification requirements. This includes ownership and continuous maintenance of all quality certificates and endorsements including ISO 9001, ASME B&PV Code QSC, US Navy TP300, ABS, HAF 604 in order to support customer and business needs.

You will drive excellence by building quality capabilities across management and employee teams, and will develop and maintain internal and external relationships with key stakeholders in order to ensure customer satisfaction

You will be responsible for providing instruction and advisement to ensure policies and processes are implemented for technical review and setup to provide accurate manufacturing instructions with the goal of quality the first time through internal auditing, and application of quality management practices.

As a key leader in the organization, you will manage the integrity of information in the QMS by training Operators throughout the site and conducting regular reviews of data. Report key issues with recommendations for improvement/action. Ensure timely and effective communication of information to relevant stakeholders / facilitate effective analysis of risk and decision making.

You will maintain oversight of Bradken’s Qualified and Approved vendors in accordance with applicable quality system requirements, including annual vendor performance reviews and contract flow-down.
Ensure all sub-vendor non conformances are documented, tracked, and addressed appropriately in order to effectively manage the vendor base, as key players in maintaining overall quality needs for Bradken’s customers

Your functional responsibilities will include Managing Department of direct reports, Quality Management System and Compliance, Quality Control, Customer and Third-Party Supplier Relationship Management.

Key Technical Criteria:
  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or other similar required
  • Lead auditor qualification per ISO 9001, NQA-1, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated years’ of experience in a quality or quality-related management position in a heavy-industrial manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems to industry standards such as ISO 9001
  • Significant experience in creating and maintaining clear and effective procedures/work instructions for the intended audience.
  • Experience working with top tier customers, internal and external, to identify, correct, and prevent quality issues
  • Experience in managing a team of professionals and/or departments
  • Experience in planning, performing, and participating in quality system audits
