Sheeting Inspector

Sheeting inspectors are responsible for conducting a thorough inspection of fabric panels before packaging for delivery.

Responsibilities:
Sheeting Inspector
Handle all sheets of fabric checking for defects.

• Coordinate with other inspectors who work with you through the shift as inspectors work in pairs most of the time.
• Identify defects & shade variances in the materials and pass an annual color test.
• Document any defects on fabric panels and in tablet/computer.
• Pick up delicate fabrics wearing gloves, inspect both sides by turning from back to front and sort Fabric panels by quality.
• Nonconforming materials (NCM) are labeled for possible reworks.
• Box fabric panels for shipment using a handheld scanner
• Label boxes
• Use mylar(template) and tape measures to confirm dimensions. Must be able to read a tape measure

Sheeting Department shifts are normally 5 days, Monday through Thursday are 9-hour shifts, 7am - 4pm and Fridays are usually 7am to 3pm. Some additional work on Saturdays may be required. Saturday work earns an additional $100.00 bonus on top of regular pay and any overtime earned during the same workweek. Workweeks are Sunday through Saturday. Pay dates are weekly on Thursdays. McMurray does not hold back one week’s pay. Employees are eligible for quarterly production bonuses of up to
10% of their pay.

Qualifications:
Excellent eyesight and attention to detail. Must be able to pass a color test annually. This position requires standing throughout the shift. Forklift experience is not required, training is available.
Punctuality, good attendance, basic computer skills, good communication, and teamwork are necessary.

Schedule:
1st shift M-F with mandatory OT at times.
Normal schedule is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm M—Thursday. Friday 7am to 3pm. We expect overtime, 7am to
4pm. Nine hours has been the norm in this area, and some Saturday shifts have been available in the last year with additional $100.00 bonus for weekend day.

Supplemental pay types:
Bonus pay
Employees are eligible for quarterly production bonuses of up to 10% of their pay and additional pay for catch-up or weekend call-in work.
