The Quality Assurance Documentation Specialist, Nutrition will assist in developing, facilitating and continually improving the QA Processes, focusing on the Customer Documentation requests to meet or exceed customer requirements from a quality or regulatory standpoint.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing QA documentation requests, which includes, but is not limited to:
    • Ensuring responses to customer quality documentation (questionnaires, etc.) requests are satisfactorily completed within required timelines
    • Creating and issuing quality and/or regulatory statements, plant/product profiles, ingredient statements, allergen statements, etc.
    • Creating and maintaining product packages and product profiles as information changes
    • Maintaining and prioritizing the customer request queue which involves working with other departments (Customer Service, Purchasing, Sales, Tech Services)
  • Create quality-related templates, statements, and product/plant profiles for both phosphate and nutrition businesses
  • Reviewing and analyzing information from raw material suppliers and manufacturing sites, as well as other product information
  • Technically assess raw material and supplier information
  • Continually improving processes and systems within the group and across functions to enable faster response to customers within the established timelines or meet new business requirements
  • Researching quality and/or regulatory standards and regulations, as needed
  • Working with other departments to improve their awareness of their role in providing timely vendor information
  • Assist with preparing/maintaining KPI's defined to measure the efficiency of our program

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or experience in Food Science or Life Science
  • 3 or more years of experience in Quality functions with a focus on handling customer documentation requests. Preferred experience in a Dietary supplement or Food companies
  • Training strongly preferred in FSMA/FSVP, Food Defense. Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification, HACCP certification

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiar with GFSI or NSF QA Standards and Auditing systems
  • FSMA requirements
  • Overall knowledge of the US FDA regulation CFR 111 and/or CFR 117
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel: Able to build trend analysis, charts, reports
  • Well organized, attention to detail with the ability to build a summary and an overall picture
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
