I. General Summary:
The Purchasing Program Management Specialist is a Purchasing window to the organization for specific programs, leading and managing the changes affecting purchased parts. Serve as a buyer by being a commercial window to suppliers ensuring internal and external customers are aligned and the best solution to TBA is selected based on given assumptions.

II. Essential Job Functions:
A. Manage and coordinate changes in programs including tracking matrix, ECIs (Engineering Change Instructions), NECs (Engineering Change System), new program activity plan, etc. to ensure Purchasing responsibilities are completed.
B. Participate in cross-department meetings as a Purchasing window to understand and provide answers to internal customers’ requests.
C. Negotiate piece costs and update BPO (Blanket Purchase Order) via NPPF (New Pricing) and TBWave to finalize commercial agreements with suppliers.
D. Assist contract manufacturers with resolving issues that TBA plant would handle (since TBA is Tier 1 to TEMA) to ensure high quality parts are delivered to customers on time.
E. Provide high-level and high-priority items to Purchasing management weekly to keep management informed of activities and obtain support.
F. Release official documents to suppliers (ECIs, volume forecasts, etc.) to ensure correct parts level is delivered to TBA plants and to customers.
G. Manage component order process for contract manufacturing including PDDR (Promise Delivery Date Request), SPO (Standard Purchase Order), part number set up, charge back, etc. to ensure both commercial and parts flow through.
H. Control TBA Direct Supply prices for NSA and Heartland to allow simpler cost-profit structure and clearer business result tracking.
I. Resolve commercial issues with suppliers to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
J. Manage finished goods purchase from contract manufacturing (PDDR, SPO vs. BPO) to ensure customer orders are delivered and commercial processes flow through.

III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience:

  • Greater than six (6) years of relevant work experience required.
  • Prefer experience working in purchasing related field for Tier I or Tier II automotive supplier-related company.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Management.

  • Ability to function both independently and with good judgment in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work efficiently within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information in verbal and written English.
  • Japanese and/or Spanish would be helpful.

Computer/Software:

  • Previous experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications. ERP System experience (e.g., Oracle) preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Lotus Notes/Outlook, Internet, etc.).

IV. Work Environment/Conditions:

Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant: N/A
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.

V. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. May be occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required.
