The Stevens lab, located in the Kirby Neurobiology Center at Boston Children’s Hospital and co-located at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is recruiting a project manager to organize and facilitate large, collaborative, projects that investigate neuroimmune cells and processes, their impacts on brain development, and their contributions to neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases such as schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s.
The project manager will track project milestones, set clear lines of communication between stakeholders, and manage reporting to sponsoring agencies. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with outstanding communication skills and a strong science background to work directly with lab leadership to enable our science.
The Project Manager (Neuroscience) will be responsible to:
- Track progress and milestones, and manage to report for large collaborative projects, primarily the Conte Center for Neuroimmune Studies and Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers projects
- Set agendas and run project meetings, generate meeting notes with action items, disseminate to group members, set clear lines of communication between group members, and identify any issues that may slow progress
- Manage and direct regulatory activities related to projects (IRB and MTA) and communicate restrictions on sample use and data sharing to lab members
- Plan, prepare, and organize logistics for annual symposium and scientific advisory meetings. Oversee outreach efforts for the Conte Center for Neuroimmune Studies, including communications to the scientific community, advocacy groups, and the public
- Update and maintain website to ensure engaging online presence
- Work with Stevens lab managers to ensure that human samples and induced pluripotent stem cells collections are well organized and support lab members to submit samples for sequencing or analysis
To qualify, you must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Management, Science, Business Administration or related field min of 3 years of experience managing collaborative projects required. An advanced degree may account for some years of experience.
- Experience with academic scientific writing, especially in the context of NIH grants, is preferred.
- Experience with human subjects research is highly desirable.
- Ability to multitask projects with various deadlines, change priorities, and exercise independent judgment and time-management skills.
- Willingness to share information and knowledge, assist on special projects and complete other duties as needed.
- Must be able to balance long-term goals with short-term deliverables.
- Experience with MTAs and other legal documents is desired but not required.
- Hybrid/remote and requires to come into the lab weekly – Cambridge or Boston Children’s Lab.
