Overview::
Are you a talented, motivated design professional with a passion for interior design? HGA has an exciting opportunity in it's San Jose office for a Project Coordinator with experience in Science and Technology (S&T). In this role you will collaborate with, and be an integral part of project teams that strive to provide innovative solutions for the unique challenges of each project. Our portfolio includes the design of corporate spaces, R&D labs, healthcare facilities, local, state, and federal government facilities, higher education buildings and campuses, and infrastructure improvements.

In this role you will::
  • work directly with clients, scientists, researchers and related end-users to develop laboratory-planning strategies at all levels of detail including new construction and renovations;
  • offer and support creative, sustainability-focused laboratory planning, technical design and detailing decisions that are in line with project goals, yet pushing the envelope beyond traditional approaches to lab design, particularly in private industry;
  • program, design, and support the design process from conceptual phase through construction administration, ensuring the design idea is consistent and properly executed;
  • communicate client objectives, provide constructive feedback and mentoring, and identify and share lessons learned with teams;
  • be a proactive resource to project teams in their decision-making processes and in the development of technically sound and innovative planning and design solutions;
  • lead the development of the technical project requirements and facilitate QA/QC processes;
  • ensure appropriate client and internal communication including written project documentation;
  • lead key meetings and presentations. Develop and maintain positive client relations;
  • communicate design, construction, and other issues to clients in a clear and compelling way;
  • work proactively to obtain approvals for additions to scope of work and influence clients to approve and process payables for our services; and
  • other duties as assigned.
You will need to have::
  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ degree from an accredited Interior Design / Interior Architecture program
  • 7-10 years of architectural lab programming/planning experience
  • Professional licensure and/or certification preferred
  • Passion for sustainability a plus
  • Fluent knowledge of Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and/or other related graphic software programs is expected
  • Knowledge of 3D programs such as Revit and/or Sketch-up
  • Experience with space planning and technical skills including 3D visualization, design detailing, and construction documentation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
Salary Information::
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $ 82,000-$114,700
