Job Summary

The Programmer Analyst works as an integral member of the Enterprise Application Services team to design, develop, integrate, test and support critical business systems. Using technology and asset management domain knowledge, the Programmer Analyst collaborates with stakeholders to build solutions that advance the strategic objectives of the enterprise. Primary responsibilities shall include support for data management, accounting, trading, automation, and collaboration systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, integrate, and support critical business systems and data solutions.
• Generate accessible data that supports business intelligence, reporting, exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and machine learning models.
• Adhere to the SDLC and collaborate with business partners to meet project deadlines.
• Assess and maintain existing systems and data integrations, making improvements that scale to meet business objectives.
• Modifies or upgrades systems to deliver desired functionality and performance.
• Plan and conduct thorough unit tests and deliver code-complete deployments for promotion into production environments.
• Support existing applications by proposing improvements, fixing bugs, and refactoring code in accordance with established standards and performance requirements.
• Analyze requirements, plan deliverables, and estimate project tasks.
• Deliver enterprise reporting solutions.
• Document and effectively communicate technical solutions.
• Continuously improve departmental processes, code libraries, standards, and best practices.
• Understand, design, and describe complex database structures.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Comparable work experience may be substituted for education requirements.
• 5+ years of professional development experience using Microsoft data technologies (SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) and code editors (Visual Studio, VSCode, SSMS).
• Professional experience in the financial services industry with proven domain knowledge.
• Working knowledge of enterprise data management platforms such as IHS Markit EDM/EDMW/DataStore.
• Proven ability to understand, assess, enhance, and support code in one or more programming languages (C#, Python, R, PHP, .Net).
• Professional experience using issue tracking software and collaboration platforms such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
• Expert at utilizing source control tools like Bitbucket (Git), including branching and merging.
• Advanced knowledge of IT environments including networking, server technologies, databases, FTP, security, testing, and deployments.
