Be part of the continuing transformation within the Business and Vendor Management (“BVM”) organization. You will join a team of creative, curious and passionate professionals whose mission is to become the leading source of vendor data and reporting for American Express Technologies.
The successful individual ensures that our programs & strategies meet the evolving needs of the enterprise through continuous innovation, evaluation and execution. This role requires strong multi-business unit and stakeholder management. You must work well in a dynamic, complex environment and under deadline pressures. The role requires strong organizational, technical and creative problem-solving skills. You are expected to bring innovative ideas to the table for future enhancements in BVM’s suite of insightful offerings.
The Program Manager is responsible for executing against their deliverables which primarily includes vendor briefing content for our senior executives, as well as driving successful program management of our vendor-related initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting build out of executive briefing content on key vendor relationships for the offices of American Express’s SVPs, EVPs, the CIO (Chief Information Officer) and group presidents
- Creating tailored communications based on varying customers and stakeholder preferences
- Collaborating across core teams within the enterprise to identify and drive additional efficiencies in vendor content generation
- Translating complex and detailed information into consumable messaging for broader audiences
- Partnering with American Express’s Third Parties to coordinate Executive Briefing Committees
- Conducting industry research to advise our leaders on potential vendor partnerships or growth opportunities
- Becoming a trusted advisor on our multi-faceted vendor partnerships
- Understanding BVMs product suite, which should be leveraged and marketed during content creation
- Supporting the creation of executive-level marketing material for BVM product forums
- Leading Third-Party vendor-related initiatives through to completion
- Partnering effectively with other organizations to drive progress on cross-team collaborative efforts.

General Qualifications
- +5 years of program management experience
- Proven ability to successfully drive results within a matrixed organization
- Ability to build strong relationships to manage multiple customers and stakeholders
- Superior communication skills to clarify expectations, drive alignment, and generate key messages
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to organize work with little day-to-day direction
- Ability to handle multiple high-priority projects and meet schedules.
- Sense of urgency, commitment to deadlines and deliverables
- Proven ability to independently overcome obstacles and resolve complex problems
- Experience in breaking down organizational barriers and influencing without direct authority
- Demonstrate accountability as a program leader
- Comfort and experience in working with both business and technology groups
- Experience with project lifecycle methodologies
- Being a champion of the Agile mindset;
Salary Range: $110,000 to $190,000 annually + bonus + benefits
