Job description
This is a summer seasonal position that begins mid- to late-May and runs through August. The position will work mostly evenings (4:00PM and later) on weekdays and weekends. The start and end dates will be established with the candidate selected to fill the position.
SUMMARY: The program and event support attendant will assist with putting on special events and programs with the Village of Lincolnwood Parks and Recreation Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Set up and break down events (decorations, tables, chairs, etc.)
- Take attendance and check patrons in
- Set up and break down sound equipment, tv screens, microphones, etc.
- Greet patrons and assist vendors with event set up and break down
- Complies with all Village Policies, Protocols, and Procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Experience with special events and programs, Parks and Recreation Department, or Park District setting preferred, but not required.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and RecTrac (Registration Program).
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers/residents, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of USD, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- Use safety equipment provided for personal use in performing daily work assignments
- Only operate equipment trained and authorized to operate
- Provide public protection from unsafe conditions and hazards resulting from municipal work operations
- Participate in special safety activities, as designated
