Job Overview
This job performs the tasks of packaging finished products into containers. Primary duties include packing product from machines into boxes, inspecting products, documenting weights, palletizing boxes, and assisting Machine Operators.
Description

• Make up corrugated boxes and place finished merchandise in boxes. Seal cases with tape gun or tape machine. Label finished cases with proper identification and stickers. Place finished cases on pallets using pre-determined case placements.
• Monitor machinery for film splices, breakage, and machinery jams and reports them to the Machine Operator immediately.
• Recognize quality issues such as weak seals and eye out registration. Places damaged product packages into proper containers.
• Monitor one machine while operator is repairing or setting the other machine up. Monitor merchandise cases to ensure proper weight and accurate packaging components.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner following Safety Standards and GMP guidelines. Maintain Oscar boards and MUDA waste. Report any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor. Occupational safety and health performance is measured in this position
• Participate and collaborate in meetings. Train others and fill in for other positions as necessary.
• Supports the Jacksonville plant FSQ and QRMP initiatives on any and all procedures/programs pertaining to product safety.

Qualifications

• Analytical reasoning, math, and organizational skills.
• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in food/beverage manufacturing is desired.
• Must have a solid understanding of process improvement methods.
• Computer skills desired.
• High School Diploma or GED desired.
