Job Summary:
There are many Entertainment roles in which our Cast Members bring Disney dreams to life. Do you want to be part of the magic behind the magic? The Production Artisan team is responsible for the fabrication and maintenance of props, scenery, costumes, and elements of different shows, events, and installations around the Disneyland™ Resort. You will be part of a team that works on different projects every day in areas of Paint, Carpentry, Mold Making, Grand Format Printing, Floral Design, Fabric Sewing, and Pattern Making.
Responsibilities:
Production Artisan – Specialty Painter- Prep and paint props for various Characters at the Park
- Design and maintain props with visual appeal, appropriate size, theme, material, and shape
- Measure and apply precise chemical ratios with various adhesion promoters and paints to secure base on props
- Use basic and/or electric hand tools to complete work
Production Artisan – Carpentry
- Build everything from basic television and theatre flats to fine art pieces
- Use basic carpentry tools, large table saws, and large band saws
- Application of materials
- Maintain a clean environment
Basic Qualifications:
Production Artisan – Specialty Painter- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Proficient in quality practices and processes of the trade - paints, clear coats, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers, related materials, respective properties and application
- Strong command of all project phases, effects, and finishes
- Ability to adapt to the props durometer
- Adept with high-volume outputs and managing multiple simultaneous projects
- Experience using water-based and solvent-based paints
- Advanced knowledge of standard practices, materials, and tools (airbrush, paint guns, touch-up guns, etc.)
- Exhibits expert proficiency in solvent-based paint formulas such as Deft and Matthews
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to put together a flat and basic boxes in a rapid but efficient manner
- Skilled with power tools and understands safe operation of hand and large tools
- Knowledge of general construction
Preferred Qualifications:
Production Artisan – Specialty Painter- Knowledge of metallic paint application and painting flexible surfaces
- Automotive-style paint prep and multistep painting
- Paint mixing and color theory
- CNC Operation
- Background in cabinetry and creative carpentry
Additional Information:
The pay rate for this role in California s $22.00 to $29.54 per hour.SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY:
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Must have flexible availability to work Sunday through Saturday, all shifts (i.e. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift) including holidays.
