Job Summary
The Product Manager – Consumables supports the development and execution of the company’s product strategy from innovation through commercialization to product lifecycle and portfolio management. The Product Manager – Consumables works in partnership with R & D, Scientific and Clinical Affairs, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, and others.

Job Responsibilities

• Influences evolution of OPTAVIA’s Healthy Eating product portfolio within company’s strategic priorities with a brand lens.
• Supports breakout product and plan innovation initiatives following company’s growth strategy.
• Assists with product lifecycle management inclusive of strategic planning and research, business case development, pricing and demand planning, packaging, commercialization, launch and optimization.
• Supports and participates in consumer and industry research projects to provide key learnings and strategic implications for consumer needs and new product introductions.
• Provides organization with in-depth analysis of market trends, consumer insights, industry, and competitors.
• Analyzes data and reports on Healthy Eating product portfolio performance and translates learnings into actionable recommendations to drive business results.
• Works with Marketing and Training teams to develop internal and external product education.
• Works with Marketing and creative agencies for new product launch activities including positioning, packaging, integrated marketing plans and brand asset development.
• Supports Senior Product Manager in other duties as assigned.

Scope

The Product Manager – Consumables will report to the Senior Product Manager and will have no direct reports.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business.
• 5-7 years’ experience in product portfolio management/product marketing.
• Consumer packaged goods experience.
• Experience managing products from development through launch. Demonstrated success defining and launching products.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and proven ability to build strong relationships.
• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities in a timely manner and with little supervision.
• Ability to problem solve and find alternate solutions to keep projects on track and on strategy
• Adaptive to the needs of the business and ability to pivot.
• Passionate about delivering brand growth and driving company mission forward.
• Ability to master relationships and demonstrate accountability.
• Excellent communication skills including written, oral, and presentation.
• Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
• Exceptional analytical capabilities.
• Strong project and time management skills.

Preferred:

• International experience
• MBA
• Stage-gate experience
• Tableau experience
