Join Intel’s Datacenter Processor Architecture (DPA) group as a SoC Configuration Architect! The DPA group architects products that deliver leadership performance, performance efficiency and security for traditional as well as new paradigms for data centric computing in the datacenter and edge with the right balance of leadership technologies and IPs for computing, interconnect, memory and quality delivered through the best mix of silicon, packaging and platform solutions.

The SoC Configuration Architect is required to quickly understand the technical specifications and requirements of SoC configuration. Specifically register programming - both functional and performance optimized value derivation, as well as fuse flows and fuse to feature mappings.

Candidate will be responsible for delivering and maintaining clear documentation on register and fuse programming guidelines, requirements for specific SoCs as well as provide technical guidance and direction to various technical and process forums, and ultimately deliver the full SoC register and fuse programming specs for each impacted SoC. Documenting these specs and providing key technical support to downstream customers - design, validation, FW and SW teams is a key aspect of this work. Understanding gaps with existing methods and establishing sound processes to derive and deliver configuration specifications to left shift validation is also a key aspect of this job. Ultimately, candidate will be responsible for helping to define the various configurations for a given SOC, defining the parameters and maintaining the specs.


Qualifications


You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 6+ years of experience -OR- a Master's Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 4+ years of experience -OR- a PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science and 2+ years of experience in:

  • Core architecture

  • Fabric & interconnect architecture including latency/bandwidth trade-offs

  • Cache & memory subsystem architecture

Preferred Qualifications

  • SoC architecture, especially Xeon arch a big plus

  • Reading/writing arch and deign specs, and/or experience with ProMark an added plus

  • Validation and execution requirements from architecture specifications a huge plus

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, California: $139,480.00-$209,760.00
  • Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience


Working Model


This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
