Our Facilities & Supply unit is looking for a Procurement & Supply Specialist (PSS2) to join the team and help ensure proper inventory for the entire WA State DOL team.

Duties

As a Procurement and Supply Specialist you will plan, coordinate, and assist with purchasing, procurement, and material management duties for the Department of Licensing. To be successful, you will be coordinating and processing the distribution of all applicable inventory, including license plates, tabs, forms, and placards to Vehicle Licensing Offices (VLOs), including County Auditor Offices and subagents. Through assisting the lead Procurement & Supply Specialist with maintaining a 60-day inventory level you will ensure appropriate revenue for Washington State can be collected. Expect lots of interaction with internal and external customers and be considered an expert on the digital plate ordering process. You will complete weekly orders, tracking and follow-up as well.

Some of what you will be doing:


  • Implementing DOL inventory control procedures to include:
    • Evaluating inventory usage data
    • Receiving and examining plates, tabs, and other inventory received for shortages or damaged merchandise.
    • Entry of information into the DRIVES system to account for inventory.
    • Preparation and maintenance of inventory records showing shipping information.
  • Assisting with coordination of master inventory records and coordination with county auditors and subagents to project supply reorder points.
  • Working with DOL Offices, Special Plate Unit, County Auditors, subagents, and external vendors on inventory requests and inquiries.
  • Compiling and analyzing data for ordering purposes using digital tracking and entry into reports.

Qualifications

What you will bring:


  • Four (4) years of combined relevant education and experience in purchasing, supply, or inventory professional.
OR
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Procurement and Supply Specialist 1.
Experience must include:
  • One (1) year of experience monitoring inventory usage rates and distribution and maintaining a required on-hand inventory supply level.
  • Two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Suite office products to include Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Two (2) years of experience providing customer service to internal and external customers.
  • One (1) year experience using data and information to access and understand issues, evaluate options, form conclusions, and make decisions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups and subject-matter experts.
Experience may be obtained concurrently.
Education to experience equivalency:
Associate’s degree = 2 years | Bachelor’s degree = 4 years | Master's degree = 5 years

What will help set you apart:
  • One (1) year experience using and navigating DOL Specific System DRIVES.
  • Knowledge and understanding of supply management.
  • Practices and procurement techniques.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment including Forklift training/certification.

Additional Requirements of Employment:
  • An ability to become forklift certified (not required to be certified prior to starting).
  • A valid Driver’s License or CDL.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform repetitive tasks, and stand/walk for long durations.
