Assists with the planning, coordinating, and implementation of fiber procurement and residue sales for the El Dorado Sawmill.

1. Maintain sawmill fiber procurement and residues sales reporting and record keeping, including: receipts, shipments, consumption, log cost, residue revenue and log inventory records.

2. Set up wood supply agreement information and pricing in the company’s computer system.

3. Maintain the annual supplier Master Supply Agreement database.

4. Responsible for ensuring accurate weekly/monthly/annual physical log inventory counts.

5. Assist with the performance of wood fiber and residue sales forecasting and budgeting responsibilities.

6. Assist with oversight of the wood scaling function daily operations, including: implementation of supplier volume quotas, problem solving with incoming deliveries, and such related supplier interactions as required.

7. Work with the logyard team and the supply chain to ensure incoming wood quality meets sawmill specifications. Maintain the wood quality specifications template, and manage communications of specifications with suppliers.

8. Perform in-the-field reviews of timber tracts for the purpose of forest certification, wood quality, timber bids and other business.

9. Responsible for the management of assigned fiber suppliers volume and pricing negotiations as designated by the manager.

10. Responsible for the management of assigned residue product customers volume and pricing negotiations as designated by the manager.

11. Collaborate with the rest of the leadership team to drive maximum, sustainable EBITDA from the operations.

12. Ensures a safe working environment for themselves and all other employees.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in a lumber mill, office, and outdoor environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as designated by the company including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing and footwear in appropriate areas and must follow safety practices.

MENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time.

SAFETY SENSITIVE

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties the working nearby and monitoring of heavy equipment or machinery. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the incumbent and others, the incumbent must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while operating or monitoring heavy equipment or machinery.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

The incumbent must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry.
• Work experience in Forestry or related forest products industry field a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills reflecting the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the organization, the operations team, and external stakeholders.
• Exemplary level of personal and business integrity.
• Proven time management, organizational, and planning skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
