Process Engineer III

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Process Engineer III are:

• Development and tracking of key performance indicators;
• Collaborates on design and executes plant trials directed at enhancing area performance;
• Compiles, formats, and submits environmental data necessary for timely and accurate filing with local, state, and federal agencies;
• Engages in continued development of self and area personnel with peer/coaching and constructive feedback;
• Assists plant management and operations personnel daily in evaluating and achieving plant performance goals related to safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability, and operability;
• Investigates plant performance issues related to safety, quality, environmental impact, capacity, reliability, and operability leading to proposal and implementation of sound technical solutions;
• Creates, maintains, and develops standards for plant operating documentation (e.g., standard operating procedures, process descriptions, material and energy balances, P&IDs, operating data collection and retrieval, etc.);
• Prepares materials for and assists in conducting operator training;
• Facilitates continuous improvement meetings and projects.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or other engineering discipline or sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four years’ experience in process measurement and applications in a manufacturing or industrial or engineering environment;
• Master’s degree in an engineering discipline with two years work experience OR a PhD with one year of work experience will be considered;
• Broad technical background, knowledge of chemical processes to effectively analyze, make recommendations and provide resolution to complex problem;
• Ability to lead and manage small groups of people as well as to work independently;
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communicate skills in both technical and non-technical areas;
• Intermediate computer skills.

Position will be located at the Kansas City, Missouri site and domestic relocation eligible.
