POSITION TITLE: Assistant Principal for Primary School: Notre Dame School of Milwaukee

Notre Dame School of Milwaukee (NDSM) is a K3 through 8th grade Catholic elementary school located on Milwaukee’s South side. Educating 640+ students and operating out of three academic programs (one co-ed primary, one boys middle school, and one girls middle school), we have achieved a 5-star DPI ranking for academic excellence and school culture for 3 consecutive years of the report card’s publication. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

1. Reports to the Principal.
2. Assists the Principal in the Administration of the NDSM education program
3. Assists the Principal in supervising and evaluating teaching personnel assigned to NDSM
4. Collaborates with NDSM administrators and staff to organize and deliver school support services

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Notre Dame School of Milwaukee Assistant Principal assists the Principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities as leading, directing, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher and child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents. The Assistant Principal acts in the capacity of the principal during the principal’s absence from school.

SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with the supervision of daily operations, learning, a safe and productive learning environment, student support services, personnel, program accountability, management of financial resources, and community relations

2. Support the management of the school’s behavior support system, discipline, and school assemblies

3. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist with program development, curriculum development and staff development
2. Lead the school’s dual-language program, provide professional development and teacher coaching, and conduct regular observations and coaching cycles
3. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: an undergraduate degree in Education or higher from an accredited college or university; Masters preferred

2. Certification: Working on or eligible for Wisconsin certification as an elementary school principal
3. Bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish
4. Is a practicing Catholic
5. Demonstrated leadership in previous positions

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
