Holy Spirit Episcopal Day School is a private preschool with academic roots centered around a play based curriculum. We serve children 12 months to 4 years old and work daily to foster independence, confidence, kindness, and cooperation in our students to build the strong foundation needed to move on to Kindergarten. We are seeking a Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our organization! This individual will assist and take direction from the Lead Teacher in age appropriate activities for children.

Responsibilities:

• Follow the direction of the lead teacher and assist with academics as instructed
• Provide basic needs for children: Toilet Training, diaper changing, washing hands, cleaning faces, love, care, and comfort
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom and school
• Help children reach developmental milestones
• Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
• Provide appropriate supervision for children at all times
• Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures
• Develop and maintain a constructive, positive, professional, and ongoing rapport with children and parents.
• Collaborate with teachers and assistants to ensure that the school fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child
• Maintain professional relationships which are supportive, helpful and positive with coworkers
• Model positive behaviors in front of students at all times
• Deliver reports on potential concerns about students to management as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to lift 40-50lbs without assistance
• Able to stand for long periods at a time
• Able to engage children at their level (ie: sitting on the floor with them; crouching to speak to them; etc)

Pay: $13.75 - $14.50 per hour
