A small but growing management company in Baltimore, MD is currently looking for a Porter. Maintenance staff are responsible for all aspects of property maintenance including curb appeal, service requests, apartment turnovers, preventative maintenance, and relations with associates, contractors, and team members.

Responsibilities

• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
• Ensure building entrance is free of clutter at all times
• Direct guests to the reception area or the appropriate office/room
• Run errands for residents and employees
• Fix minor technical issues, like changing bulbs
• Report damages, call technicians and monitor repairs
• Maintain stock of cleaning supplies
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Follow evacuation rules in case of emergencies
• Clean and maintain structures: offices, apartment buildings, apartment blocks, etc.
• Outdoor responsibilities, such as shoveling snow or sweeping walkways.
• Do a bit of everything to keep businesses running cleanly and smoothly

Requirements

• Previous work experience as a Porter, Janitor or Custodian
• Hands-on experience with industrial cleaning equipment
• Good physical condition, stamina and strength (e.g. to lift heavy equipment and cleaning materials)
• Familiarity with security regulations
• Solid verbal communication skills to interact with cleaning staff, technicians, residents and office staff.
• Basic mechanical skills
• Availability to work in shifts and flexible schedules (e.g. weekends and evenings)
• Valid Driver’s License and a vehicle to travel among properties in the city
• High school diploma is a plus
