About the Role
The USPIS Career Development Unit is responsible for the management of the Polygraph Unit for the Postal Inspector Applicant/Pre-Employment examinations and field criminal investigation examinations. The Polygraph Unit is responsible for conducting criminal examinations in the field, as well as Pre-Employment examinations at CDU and in field locations as needed.
What you will do:
  • Support the USPIS Assessment Center by running Pre-Employment Examinations as needed
  • Contract Polygraph Examiners will only be tasked with conducting Pre-Employment Exams – (Law Enforcement Pre-Employment Test) Suitability Phase only
  • Must be willing to travel to Potomac, MD for Assessment Centers
  • Review and analyze applicant and exam information; develop/construct appropriate test questions in accordance with the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) and USPIS guidelines; administer the exam and evaluate test results.
  • Conduct appropriate post-test interviews/interrogations to resolve issues within program guidelines.
  • Prepare all post exam reports supporting exam results and submit them to Quality Control (QC) personnel in a designated timely fashion
  • Upload all exam information and allied documents into the USPIS Polygraph Examiner System in a designated timely fashion.
  • Ensure all serious criminal offenses are brought to the attention of QC for further dissemination as deemed appropriate
  • Adhere to the advice and guidance of QC; administer additional testing if and/or when advised by QC personnel.
Minimum Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; graduate of the NCCA or equivalent federal precursor program and have conducted at least 500 Criminal and Pre-Employment exams, and 10 years of Polygraph experience. Experience conducting LEPET examinations is highly desirable.
  • Graduation from the National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) PDD program or an equivalent federal precursor program.
  • Must have completed at least 500 Criminal and Pre-Employment exams, and 10 years of Polygraph experience.
  • Must be current on all Continuing Education (CE) credits and maintain CE hours in accordance with NCCA guidelines.
  • Experience with Lafayette Instruments polygraph equipment and operating systems.
  • Ability to travel to Potomac, MD for Assessment Centers
