The Maintenance Manager will lead maintenance crews in the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of equipment used in the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse. The Manager will oversee maintenance processes to minimize downtime and maintain maximum efficiency. Responsibilities include leading teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians, developing and supervising maintenance systems, scheduling maintenance, training employees, maintaining records, and assisting with Process Safety Management programs.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 2+ years of related experience or 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. A bachelor's degree in engineering and previous leadership experience is preferred. Advanced technical skills in fields such as ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers, and electrical systems are also preferred.
Compensation includes competitive starting pay, a bonus potential of $15K+ including an Extended Work Week Compensation Program, comprehensive health insurance, retirement benefits, and relocation assistance. As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead teams of mechanics and electricians to perform predictive and preventive maintenance and repair of equipment in the plant, facilities, utilities, and powerhouse. You will develop, implement and oversee maintenance systems, processes, and documentation to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce mechanical downtime.
Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling maintenance work in a timely manner and working with production to complete repairs
- Developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators for the maintenance function
- Providing support to operating teams for troubleshooting and problem analysis
- Training employees on proper work methods and safety procedures
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance work and inventory
- Providing status reports to the maintenance management team
- Gathering information for the Process Safety Management (PSM) program
- Assisting with the development of written process safety information and Process Hazard Analysis
- Managing the Management of Change Program and participating in compliance audits
- Assisting with workplace hazard assessments and Pre-Startup Safety Review
- Enlisting and training other departments to assist in the implementation of the PSM program
- Ensuring all associated documentation is filed, indexed and maintained for third-party auditing
- Keeping the Site's EPA RMP file up to date, including the 5-year accident history report.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 2+ years of related experience or 4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in engineering and prior leadership experience is preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge in ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers, compressed air, mechanical and electrical systems (e.g. PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering, etc.) and ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, inventory and scheduling software is preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills including conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision-making, empowerment, and delegation.
- Ability to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts related to high-level process issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent planning and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and maintain positive relationships with coworkers.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Must be willing to work long hours and weekends as required.
Work Environment:
The work environment for this job involves both an office and a plant setting. The plant environment can be wet or humid, hot or cold, and may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles. The noise level is generally moderate, but may become loud in the production area. The employee may be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, using hands to handle, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear, as well as close and distant vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The employee in this role will provide leadership and guidance to the Maintenance Department and will be responsible for tasks such as interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning and directing work, evaluating performance, disciplining and rewarding employees, addressing complaints, and finding appropriate resolutions. These responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
