Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Job description
We are expanding and seeking compassionate Physical Therapy Assistants to provide home-based PTA services. As a participating team member, you will contribute to improving mobility and enhancing the quality of life of our members.
Position Responsibilities:
- Administers:
- Active and passive manual therapeutic exercises including aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training
- Therapeutic massage
- Heat, light, sound, water and electrical stimulation, such as ultraviolet and infrared
- Hot and cold packs
- Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of physical therapy treatment, fall risk interventions, and health & wellness programs under the supervision of the Physical Therapist
- Observes patients during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist
- Fits patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs
- Provide a positive patient experience through patient engagement and progressive treatment
