Full time, 80 hours/2 weeks
Pharmacy will be open from 8AM-5:30PM (Monday - Friday), and from 9AM - 2PM Saturdays, closed Sundays. New hires would be expected to work every other Saturday.

The Retail Cashier is an operations position with extensive customer service responsibility, servicing the over-the-counter customers of the retail pharmace, while acting in accordance with RUSH policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Accurately receives monies from retail customers for daily over-the-counter sales. Completes all cash, check, and credit-card transactions per the established cash and check handling procedures.
2. Accurately performs daily cash register reconciliation reports.
3. Responds to retail pharmacy customers in a pleasant and professional manner. Effectively communicates with internal and external customers ( i.e., patients, physicians, hospital employees, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, etc.).
4. Refers questions regarding drug information (prescription and over-the-counter) or patient-specific medication questions to a pharmacist.
5. Responds to and resolves patient/customer problems in an appropriate and timely fashion using proper channels.
6. Maintains work and retail area in an organized, orderly and presentable fashion.
7. Monitors inventory to maintain adequate and appropriate stock levels and appropriate product selection.
8. Checks for expiration dates and processes returns for expired products and overstocks.
9. Arrives at workstation and begins work in a timely fashion.
10. Performs within the framework of RUMC/HDM, L.L.C. policies and procedures.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
2. Two years' experience in a customer service oriented pharmacy environment, or related field, is desired.
3. Good problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and quickly in responding to and resolving a wide range of problems.
4. Excellent data entry skills.
5. Flexibility with work schedule.
6. Excellent verbal communication skills.
7. Dependable in attendance and job performance.
8. Able to lift 30 lbs.
9. Good organizational and time management skills.
10. Team player with a positive attitude and work ethic.
Equipment/Machines/Vehicles, etc Used in Performing Work:
1. Telephone, computer systems, copiers, fax machines, calculator and other office equipment as necessary.
Working Conditions:
1. Normal office and warehouse environments.
2. May be exposed to certain hazardous materials, including but not limited to blood-borne pathogens, chemotherapeutic agents, cleaning and sanitizing agents.
