Job description
The Petrophysicist is responsible for assisting in delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable products and services to our customers. The job consults with operations groups as needed to support the area of expertise and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of product and service delivery and formally communicates findings. The Petrophysicist actively participates in promoting new technology and services offerings and supports the PL in risk management and applying lessons learned to improve job design and execution as related to the area of expertise. They provide real-time support to operations as required.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Petrophysical Evaluation of Unconventionals and Conventional
- Determine Lateral Landing Point selection based on Reservoir and Completion Qualities
- Conduct Acoustics and Rock Mechanics evaluation for Unconventional resources
- Nuclear Magnetic Resonance - NMR analysis and modelling expert Techlog user
- Open Hole and Cased Hole Wireline Evaluation/Processing
- Conduct core-log integration
- Processing and Interpretation of Analysis Behind Casing Pulsed Neutron Tools
- Engaged in complex lithology analysis, including integration with cores, x-ray diffraction, mudlogging and wireline data.
- Provided organic shale petrophysics, generating total organic carbon (TOC)
- Completed shale analysis, determining clay point, mineralogy, saturations, porosities and permeability in unconventional reservoirs
- Delivered nuclear magnetic resonance interpretation of T1/T2 maps
Qualifications and Experience:
- Geologist/Geophysicist – (Batchelor or similar)
- Prefer 3-5 Year experience in Petrophysics or similar field
- Service company or SLB experience preferred
- Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorshop
