POSITION PURPOSE / SUMMARY STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position):

The Performance Tech Rep, Run Specialty (New England) will be home-based in Massachusetts. The Performance Tech Reps are the leaders on the ground floor of marketing and merchandising in their territories. Their goal is to be true faces of the ASICS brand and partner with accounts to execute field marketing strategies that amplify ASICS’ leadership position in the athletic footwear and apparel industry and enable strong sell thru. They are the leading champions of the brand, building awareness and loyalty with accounts and end consumers.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (include titles of positions directly reporting to this position):

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independent interfacing with accounts on education, merchandising, event planning and activation, seeding.
  • Scheduling meetings, activations, and travels to accounts for engagement and relationship building.
  • Planning and building reporting on weekly activities, activations, and communication.
  • Providing point of view / educating accounts and end consumer on products, brand story, etc.
  • Administrative work- budget, expenses, ordering and sell thru tracking.
  • Learning marketplace and sharing findings to cross functional team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines

  • Strong understanding of the performance athletic marketplace, through the lens of ASICS and its competitors

  • Ability to provide solutions to support business needs through creative problem solving and creative innovation

  • Must be skilled in training, sales generation, planning, authentic customer service, communication, conflict resolution, business acumen, and time management

  • Ability to propose creative marketing activations to build awareness

  • Operates with curiosity with an ability to manage ambiguity and push through business challenges with a focus on continuous development

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of trend progression in performance footwear and apparel

  • Good sense of intercultural differences, team player, good communicator.

  • Willing to travel throughout the US.

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years experience in the athletic footwear industry.

  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with accounts on education, merchandising, event planning and activation, seeding.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Experience with Google Applications such as Gmail, Google Hangouts, etc. a plus.
