About us: High Hopes Children’s Therapy is looking for fun-loving, positive energy, and passionate pediatric occupational therapists to join our team! High Hopes Children’s Therapy is a family-owned business. We care about our therapists and provide a great work environment. We offer extensive mentoring and train our therapists in the use of various sensory integration techniques and programs, such as the IM program, iLs program, and astronaut training. Job Location : 3538 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30005

We are looking for a committed and patient-focused Occupational Therapist to develop, recover or maintain the daily living skills of children with physical, mental or developmental conditions. You will offer effective and client-centered services that will enable people to confidently and independently carry out everyday tasks or activities. The successful candidate will have a holistic perspective and will be able to adapt the environment to fit the child.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluations, treatments, and documentation per insurance guidelines
  • Address client’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being and life quality
  • Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)
  • Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
  • Recommend adaptive equipment If needed and train in its use
  • Guide and educate family members and caregivers
  • Observe, note, and report on progress of treatment goals
  • Collect data and document processes followed

Skills

  • Experience as occupational therapist in pediatric setting
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
  • Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
  • Familiarity with evaluation tools (e.g., BOT-2, VMI, Sensory Profile, Peabody)
  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
  • Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
  • Professional behavior
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Valid license to practice occupational therapy
