Job Description

Responsible for providing day-to-day operations support for the delivery of payroll. Supports the coordination and processing of payroll. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Payroll team in the coordination and monitoring of payroll for approximately 18,000 US employees.

  • Supports the end to end US payroll process – including production issue triage, problem solving, monitoring interfaces and ensuring delivery accuracy. This subject matter expert provides consultation to all areas of payroll operations and frequently interacts with the HR Ops and Technology teams.

  • Provides day-to-day operations support for the delivery of in-house payroll services to employees, ensuring excellent levels of customer service. Identifies simple to moderately complex issues and incidents, provides recommendations for process improvements where appropriate. Supports continuous improvement.

  • Provides support for audit, reconciliation and accounting of the multi-company, multi-state corporate payrolls and general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with corporate policies/procedures and Federal, State and Local tax codes and regulatory requirements.

  • Ensures timely resolution of payroll issues with various tax jurisdictions and regulatory authorities.

  • Monitors interfaces and loads (internal and external) and resolves issues associated with the data.

  • Assist with payroll validations and resolve payroll discrepancies by researching and analyzing information

  • Assist with answering employee inquiries and requests

  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential

  • Works closely with HR staff on payroll related initiatives

  • Contribute to team effort by assisting with payroll projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

  • Associate's Degree in Operations Management, Mathematics, Accounting, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience in payroll, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

  • In lieu of a degree, 4+ years of experience as an administrative assistance

  • FPC

  • Proven ability to problem solve and research large scale production issues in coordination with a technology and production support team

  • Detail oriented (good problem solving and troubleshooting skills), excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), self-motivated and self-directed, good multi-tasking skills, flexible, and committed to successful on-time completion of tasks.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and handle pressure situations effectively and professionally

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced experience with Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.)
