Job description
General Summary: Responsible for administering anesthesia and monitoring patients through their surgeries. Ensures that their patients have a smooth recovery after their surgery.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Completing physical assessments of each patient
2. Develop and execute an effective anesthetic plan.
3. Manage the patient's airway and respiratory status.
4. Monitor patients before, during, and after a medical procedure.
5. Prepare operating rooms, set up equipment, layout supplies, and prepare necessary gases.
6. Perform regular patient visits and legibly record findings in the patient records. 7. Request and assess diagnostic tests.
8. Remain up-to-date with the latest advances in the anesthesia field including the introduction of new medical equipment and techniques.
Experience: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or relevant undergraduate degree. Minimum of 2 years experience working as a CRNA required. Must have a current license to practice as a registered nurse. Must be skilled in airway management techniques and chronic pain treatment. Possess superb communication and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of current anesthesia practices and techniques. PRN employees are expected to work a minimum of one (1) day per month.
Equipment Operated: Standard medical exam/office equipment, which may include computerized health information management system for medical records, etc. Work Environment: Work performed in an outpatient clinic setting with exposure to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens. Interaction with patients, staff, physicians, pharmacists and other medical facilities. Mental/Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, sitting, squatting and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. Working at a video display terminal for extended periods. Functioning in high stress situations. This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
