Summary:
Our Prairie Mountain Media facility is in need of motivated and dependable individuals to join our mailroom staff and be a part of a team responsible for setting up the stacker and stacking printed papers on pallets. No experience required. You get to work in an innovative, creative, and friendly work environment all while developing excellent skills.
What you will be doing:

Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or stackers to be moved and set-up.

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets by hand.

Operates hand pallet jack, electronic truck, and/or forklift to move articles before or after printing.

Monitors stackers for proper operation; stops machine and attempts to correct malfunctions; notifies supervisor of malfunction if necessary.

Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist.

Conveys materials between department's storage areas, loading areas, and printing presses.

Assist press crew with make-ready's and wash-ups as directed by the Lead Pressman.

Cleans machines and work area daily.

Makes simple adjustments or repairs to equipment. Assist with press maintenance as directed.

Completes job forms and other department documents as necessary.

Shares responsibility with team / department members for quality of outputs.

Maintains neat and orderly department, implementing good housekeeping practices, including dumping all recycle and trash bins in the pressroom.

Work towards becoming a Pressman Level 2+ while learning the machine operation.

Perform all press maintenance as needed
What you will bring:

Ability and willingness to and successfully become forklift certified if hired.

Ability and willingness to successfully become pallet jack certified if hired.

Ability and willingness to successfully become electronic truck certified if hired.

Previous manufacturing experience a plus

High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; crawl; kneel; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to frequently required to lift products of up to 50 pounds and move rolls of newsprint over a 12 hour shift
The hourly wage for Colorado residents is $17.50. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, time in role, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, MediaNews Group offers a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition program, and 401K plan (all benefits are based on eligibility).
