Fulltime and part-time positions with WGL under contract to service Amazon.com, offering great pay for Owner Operators. 80/20 split. We carry the cargo and trailer insurance.

If you’re an experienced Owner Operator who holds a valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A, with no major violations. We are in the CVG origin area but have access to other origin points including but not limited to Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Consider contracting with Willie G Logistics. Our local firm has a 14-year track record of serving customers in a safe, timely manner. We’re also dedicated to ensuring a healthy work-life balance for our Owner Operators. These contracts are based on a weekly commitment for roundtrips, dispatched loads only, no one way work. You may also commit to multiple weeks of work. Keep in mind holiday weeks still operate like any other week of blocks. Consider this before agreeing to blocks in those weeks.

Duties: As an Owner Operator, you will be assigned to report at specified dates and times to an Amazon facility, using the Amazon Relay App on your device (cell phone). You will then pick up your trailer and transport it to its destination; this process may repeat several times a day under all types of drivers. Amazon tracks it loads in the app. they may contact you during your block. All blocks are guaranteed paid by Amazon even if load is canceled by them.

Teams: 1 round trip block per week.

Solo with sleeper: 3 round trip blocks per week. Each block is 2 days.

Solo Day Cab: 5 round trip blocks per week. Each block is 1 day.

Hours: Teams: TBD based on load

Solo: Based on up to a 13.5 hour day per block

Responsibilities

• Be on time for picking up loads. Be inside the geo-fence 15 minutes before pick-up time. Wait times can be long just to check-in at the gate to get inside Amazon facilities. As long as the app is on and active for your block Amazon can see if you are waiting to enter a facility
• Load acceptance. Make sure you can fulfill the weekly commitment. Once the weekly load is accepted it is yours to complete IE Tractor rental or driver replacement.
• App usage. The app must be in use when you are under an Amazon load or preparing to pick-up to start your day. You are free to use your GPS when under an Amazon load but theirs needs to be active as well.
• Transport finished goods to and from distribution centers
• Inspect trailers for mechanical and safety issues and inform Amazon yard personnel of maintenance issues
• Follow delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving using ELD logs or other methods
• Input data into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
• Comply with truck-driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Keep cellphone charged and ready for required uses, including communication, GPS guidance and Amazon Relay App
• Report defects, accidents or violations

Qualifications

• Valid truck-driving license 2+ years
• Proven work experience as a truck driver
• Age 26 or older
• Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck-driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
• Military experience is a plus
