We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, hardworking, excellent with patients, and brings a positive and fun attitude to the workplace. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will work closely with our orthodontists, providing chair-side assistance during orthodontic procedures and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Chair-Side Assistance: Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and instruments are ready. Assist orthodontist during orthodontic procedures, including placing and removing orthodontic appliances, adjusting wires, and taking digital scans. Provide support during various treatments such as braces adjustments, banding, bonding, and archwire changes. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and provide post-treatment care instructions.
  • Patient Care and Communication:Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a warm and friendly atmosphere. Establish a rapport with patients, making them feel comfortable and at ease. Assist in patient management, including scheduling appointments, managing records, and updating patient charts. Address patient inquiries, concerns, and provide information about orthodontic procedures and treatment plans. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
  • Sterilization and Organization:Sterilize and prepare dental instruments and equipment according to established infection control protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including treatment rooms, lab, and sterilization area. Manage inventory of dental supplies and equipment, ensuring their availability for treatments.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care. Communicate effectively and proactively participate in team meetings and training sessions. Contribute to a positive and fun work environment, fostering a sense of camaraderie and team spirit.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional dental or orthodontic assisting certification is a plus).
  • Previous experience as an Orthodontic Assistant is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to multitask and work efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and infection control protocols.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with dental practice management software.
