REI Systems is working together with USCIS to implement new, advanced technology quickly and efficiently. REI Systems will implement DevSecOps in an open-source, cloud-based environment, leveraging infrastructure as code and relying upon Test-Driven Development. REI Systems will demonstrate the value and flexibility of Containerized and Microservices-based Architecture and deploying new capabilities on an OpenShift Enterprise Container Platform. REI Systems is pleased to support USCIS in a multi-vendor environment, often a requirement for large and complex mission-enabling IT systems.
As an Oracle and PostgreSQL DBA you will support our federal customer. In this role, you will develop and support technical solutions to the ever-growing needs of the customers in database administration and warehousing areas.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience designing, developing and managing enterprise-level databases using Oracle and PostgreSQL
- 2+ years of experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS
- Ability to demonstrate the proper techniques used for database backup and restoration, managing database performance and performing typical security lockdown procedures
- Familiarity with ATO/ Security accreditation processing and strategic security policy implementation
- Extensive experience in ETL, process mapping, and data transformation
- Be up to date on the current technology landscape, be technology agnostic, and have a passion for staying current and experimenting with new approaches and tools.
- Able to communicate effectively with high-level U.S. Government, senior management, internal customers, and external partners
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline
- Provide operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex database management systems architected using a microservices framework
- Design, create, maintain and scale enterprise level databases as a part of technical solution to meet customer objectives and project requirements
- Monitor and configure database systems and databases to achieve optimum performance levels; Perform indexing, data partitioning and performance tuning as required
- Lead complex database software installations, patching and upgrades to operating systems and related database software packages
- Document backup and recovery procedures, perform backups, automate and monitor logging
- Ensure database data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate solutions of varying complexities
- Support external audits and conduct audits of databases to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines;
- Leverage open source platforms, tools, databases, front-end frameworks, and middleware
- Provide thought leadership for innovative data solutions to address complex business problems
- Act as SME for customer-facing project delivery for data management, database administration and data analytics projects aimed at federal government
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with improving performance on enterprise applications with large data
- Experience in Test Driven and Behavior Driven Development frameworks
- Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git/Github
- Familiarity with container technologies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data analytics, business intelligence, economics, statistics, or mathematics
Clearance: US Citizenship with ability to obtain Public trust clearance
Location: Position is currently remote but post-pandemic may require travel to the customer's Washington, DC offices
