EAGLES/EDGE is the auxiliary program department of St. John’s Prep in Danvers, MA. St. John’s Prep is an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School for young men in grades 6 through 12. Founded on the Xaverian values of compassion, humility, simplicity, trust and zeal, we educate students to be, do and stand for good in the world. We enroll 1,500 students from more than 60 communities.

Position Purpose:

The Operations Assistant is a key position within the EAGLES/EDGE programs. This person will manage the daily logistics that keep camp running, and campers healthy. This includes getting lunches to 100+ campers a day, making sure water is available across campers, and helping set up for bigger, all-camp events. Flexibility, a good, child-centric, sense of humor, and a love of the outdoors, are essential! This position reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs and/or Camp Director.

Essential Job Functions:

• Must have a valid MA driver’s license to drive a camp truck.
• Provide logistical support throughout campus, ensuring that campers and staff stay safe and hydrated.
• Help deliver lunches to 100+ individuals a day, working with our catering team to ensure this is done in a timely and safe manner.
• Assist in setting up/breaking down for large group/camp events.
• Serve as a liaison to facilities, security and EMS.
• Help with equipment/delivery movement/management.
• Preference for staff that can work before camp begins and after camp ends in flexible time to manage some camp communications.
• Works 8:30AM - 4:30PM, with a 30 minute on campus break.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other Job Duties:

Attendance at staff training and staff meetings is mandatory.

Qualifications:

Experience working in a fast paced environment, with at least 1 year of driving under a clean MA driver’s license.

Physical Aspects of the Job:

EAGLES/EDGE is set on a 175-acre rolling campus with 2 pools and seven fields. Candidates must be able to follow the camper schedule on foot each day, be able to lift up to 30 pounds, participate in games and activities, and maintain a healthy presence during the long outdoor camp day.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
