This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for on-call, Part-Time Crew Chief for our Albuquerque, New Mexico office to assist with archaeological investigations. Be involved in projects with our Heritage Resource Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Assist with Class I data reviews
  • Class III pedestrian investigations
  • Assist with field projects during all phases of archaeological testing (primarily Phase I and II)
  • Detailed note taking and field record documentation
  • Prehistoric and historic artifact identification
  • Ability to assist/lead other field members
  • Familiarity with GPS technologies
  • Feature identification and processing
  • Report writing
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED, Undergraduate degree in anthropology, archaeology, historic preservation, or related field highly preferred
  • Archaeological field school
  • At least 6 months of field experience in American Southwest CRM archaeology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, physically able to conduct all aspects of fieldwork in all weather conditions, and be able to follow instructions
  • Local to New Mexico and surrounding region is preferred.
  • This is an on-call, hourly position. Ability to travel and work on short notice is necessary, as opportunities to work in other states is possible. Hourly rates are industry competitive.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
