TransCore, a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Accounting Manager to join our team in White Marsh, Maryland.

Summary: Manages the development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Account Reconciliations, Fixed Assets, Project Accounting, Revenue Recognition, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Ensures that operational procedures and processes are followed and meet audit standards. Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue. Participates in annual audits and special projects. May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Approves journal entries.
  • Reviews & approves account reconciliations.
  • Reviews & approves new entries into the fixed asset database.
  • Completes the month end close process.
  • Setup and maintenance of projects.
  • Reviews financial statements.
  • Reviews reports created by Accountant(s) including monthly consolidation.
  • Prepares various reports.
  • Prepares monthly consolidation templates (SRC).
  • Yearly Budget Preparation and Analysis.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates Accounting personnel.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages up to 10 employees, some of which may be through subordinate supervisors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
