Nutrition & Procurement Specialist- Based in Pipestone, MN or Brandon, SD
Job description
Objective: Pipestone Nutrition works with pig producers across the Midwest for swine nutrition expertise, ingredient procurement and mill management services. The individual we are seeking needs to be committed to providing high quality customer service, have exceptional communication skills, and be able to build relationships with the farmers we serve. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Understand the basics of nutrition, feed ingredients, and feed budgets.
- Implement and verify diets with feed mills.
- Update internal feed ordering system budgets and diets.
- Assist sow farm feed ordering team with invoice entry and verification.
- Communicate effectively with feed mills, pig owners and suppliers for product orders and evaluate competitive pricing.
- Process and generate purchase orders for Pipestone branded products in accounting software program.
- Attention to detail and data integrity is imperative.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
- Assist other team members as necessary.
- Miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education: Agricultural or administrative degree preferred.
Experience: Customer relations, livestock background and/or feed ingredients.
Work Environment: Office located in Pipestone, MN or Brandon, SD
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit at a desk working on a computer for daily work.
