Job Summary:
The Patient Service Associate facilitates the efficient operation of the patient care unit. The Patient Service Associate is the communication hub of the unit. The Patient Service Associate serves as the unit receptionist, interacting with medical and ancillary staff, patients and the public in a courteous manner. This position provides essential administrative and service support to health care team members.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentExperience: Previous health care experience preferred.Licensure/Certificates: NoneSkills: Basic skills in math, reading and writing English.Basic computer and typing skills (at least 20 words per minute).Ability to learn and use clinical information systems and medical terminology.Ability to function as an active team member.Professional communication skills.Ability to transition quickly in a fast paced environment.Physical Requirements: Requires long periods of concentration.Requires ability to be mobile and to sit for long periods of time.Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity.
