Position Summary:
The NKO Assistant Director is responsible for maintaining a balanced equation amongst administration, teachers, students, and parents to achieve academic excellence. In addition, the NKO Assistant Director will assist campus leadership, teachers and parents in recognizing the importance of each to the goal of achieving success for our students, community, and the world. The NKO Assistant Director establishes protocols and effective systems to support the achievement of the goals.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide day-to-day management, coordination and administrative support in the ongoing development, implementation and administration of all phases of academic, SEL, and classroom management initiatives.
- Collaborate with campus leadership and teachers with respect to educating students to meet educational benchmarks.
- Develop strategies to move each segment of students who are meeting/not meeting standards to the next quartile of performance during the academic year.
- Develop research strategies to establish best practices in raising student achievement.
- Develop tools to analyze, interpret and present data.
- Provide support and guidance to teachers in handling day-to-day challenges of instruction, implementation of curriculum, and classroom management.
- Develop and maintain the academic growth of all students.
- Promote inter-disciplinary programs and educational innovation on campus.
- Bachelor's Degree in a core subject area such as Mathematics or English required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Five years of urban teaching experience required.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in an education environment required.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and interact well with students, teachers and parents.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to build teams and collaborations is required.
- Outstanding multi-tasking and research abilities required.
- Extensive knowledge in core curriculum areas required.
- Must be a seeker of new knowledge and methods that will improve the overall performance of students and staff.
