The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Night Shift Supervisor to work at our Detroit, MI location. The Supervisor will be responsible for directing workforce to meet objectives and service customers for assigned area of operation. Must adhere to all local, state, OSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines booklet, Safety Rules sign-off sheet and any/all information provided by the Company, steel mill, or customer.

We are a unique, 100-year-old family-owned company that transforms our recycled products into construction materials, lightweight aggregates, asphalt, cement, concrete, agricultural products, and more. We provide steel mill services, flame cutting and treatment, road building, logistics, laboratory testing, and a variety of other solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities

The Supervisor will:

• Develop, train and facilitate a working team of employees
• Assigns and schedules work based on customer requirements
• Cultivates relationships with steel mill personnel, continually looking for new service opportunities
• Assists with the development and maintenance of the site budget
• Assists with KPIs for the site
• Works with all necessary parties for the purpose of problem resolution and correction of non-conformances
• Supports the safety program by providing training, enforcing safety regulations and administering corporate safety protocols
• Interfaces with the local community, government officials and regulatory agencies
• Maintains records and reports
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of five years of experience in an industrial or construction setting
• Excellent people skills to work with customers, employees and vendors
• Ability to train, support and coordinate personnel in a multi-function operation
• Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations and ability to implement appropriate related programs and controls
• Ability to understand financial data
• Mechanical aptitude and a basic knowledge of quality control procedures
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

• Lifts up to 40 pounds
• Sits, stands and walks for extended period of time
• Operates motor vehicle
• Works in environment with noise and temperature variations
