• The CX US Public Sector Solution Validation Services team (SVS) is dedicated to providing Network Architecture and Design Validation services to help Cisco customers mitigate deployment risks for new technologies and accelerate technology adoption. The team replicates full-scale customer networks to thoroughly validate Cisco platforms and software, ensuring seamless performance and delivering superior value to customers' networking and communication requirements.
• Our team possesses expertise in a wide range of third-party and competitive products, as well as Cisco's product portfolio. The US PS SVS team designs and deploys cutting-edge solutions that provide our customers with a competitive edge in today's business climate.
• As a member of the US PS SVS team, you will design next-generation solution validation labs and validate these solutions for US Public Sector customers. You will also advise customers on trending network technologies and drive accelerated adoption of new technologies and solutions. Collaboration with end customers, sales, services, and development engineering is critical, as you will act as a bridge between these groups to support their priorities. You will also need to understand complex network designs and configurations, detailed test requirements and create flawless test report deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with a team of test engineers to perform test and validation activities.
• Drive requirements discussions, analyze test requirements, build test lab configurations, author and implement test plans, and document results.
• Automate test cases by creating new or reusing/adapting existing test case automation.
• Utilize industry-standard and proprietary traffic generation test tools to simulate production network traffic loads.
• Compile and present detailed test reports to end customers.
• Validate new design solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Identify critical issues and gaps and work with engineering and delivery teams to resolve them.
• Develop and integrate new technologies in lab environments.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and Systems Engineers from the Delivery and Sales teams regarding future initiatives and securing customer business.
• Innovate to gain efficiency and accelerate validation efforts.

Requirements:

• Programming experience, Python, or Robot Framework preferred.
• Proficiency in git and version control systems (GitLab, GitHub).
• Traffic generation test tools knowledge (Ixia/Spirent).
• Virtualization: Basic VMWare knowledge. Hypervisors, servers, and desktop virtualization.
• Structured Data: YAML, JSON.
• Parsing through dictionaries (nested dictionaries, especially).
• Experience with Linux systems.
• Test and validation experience (hardware or software).
• Up to 15% travel.

The candidate should also be familiar with the following technologies:

• Docker: Deploy and manage containers, expose ports, define services, networks, and volumes.
• Infrastructure as Code technologies (Ansible, Terraform, Network Services Orchestrator (NSO)).
• NETCONF and RESTCONF.
• Understanding of APIs and programmatic methods for automation & orchestration.
• Python libraries such as Netmiko, Paramiko, Nornir, PyATS.
• XML.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: From $55.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Data Center Technologies: 2 years (Preferred)
• SDA/ SD-WAN: 4 years (Preferred)
• NETCONF and RESTCONF: 3 years (Preferred)
